Customs checklist — India, USA, and the no pile

Pick the country, then Allowed / Ask first / Restricted — the same way a walk-in asks at Newton. This is counter practice, not a lawyer letter. If the carton includes food, batteries, or anything with a brand invoice, ask before you tape it.

  • Filter by country: India, USA, or all
  • Then Allowed, Ask first, or Restricted
  • Search an item before you tape the carton

What we will actually book

Desk rules for the cartons we book from Newton — not a customs ruling. Pick a country, then Allowed / Ask first / Restricted. When in doubt, bring the item to 12950 80 Ave, Unit 4, or send a photo before you pack.

Country

Status

This is practical counter guidance, not legal advice. CBSA export rules and destination customs can still stop a carton we thought was fine.

    Customs questions before you pack

Is this an official CBSA or Indian customs list?

No. It is what this Surrey desk will and will not book, plus the holds we see on India and USA lanes. Destination customs can still inspect a legal carton.

Can I send homemade food to Punjab?

No. Homemade and wet foods leak and sit in customs. Sealed, commercially packed dry items are a conversation at 12950 80 Ave with the product in hand.

Do commercial samples need a different list?

Yes. Samples need an invoice with CAD value even if they are “not for sale.” Use the USA or India tab, then the commercial samples page if you are shipping B2B.

    Ready to Ship?

Unsure? Send a photo of the contents

WhatsApp or the quote form: destination, a contents list, and whether it is a gift or commercial. We would rather refuse an item than watch it sit in customs.
