CBSA export and US customs — what we need on the waybill
Receiver: street address (no P.O. box on many express products), city, state, ZIP, and a US phone number.
Commercial goods: invoice with description, quantity, value, and country of origin. “Samples — no commercial value” is not a magic phrase if the goods clearly have value.
Personal gifts: itemised list and a truthful CAD value. Lithium batteries, aerosols, and alcohol are a stop-and-ask, not a surprise in the carton.
Sender: Canadian address and phone. We tell you when a shipment needs more than a walk-up label.
